Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild
Pink, excessive and perfectly placed between two seas. It could have been vulgar. It isn’t. Annoying, isn’t it?

Come for the gardens as much as the villa. Do not make the cagade of rushing through the rooms in ten minutes because you have another beach to “do”.
Why we go
Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild created the villa in the early 20th century and surrounded it with nine themed gardens. The site sits high on Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and constantly plays with the sea, long perspectives and a very eclectic collection.
What to actually look at
The French garden gets the attention, but the Japanese, Florentine, exotic gardens and rose garden stop the visit becoming one postcard. Inside, give the porcelain and furniture a proper look too.
Open daily. In summer the site lists 10am to 7pm. A combined ticket with Villa Kérylos is available. Checked August 2026.
If you think it is “too much”, fine. Do the full circuit first. Then you may be difficult.
