Corniche d’Or: 30 km of turquoise sea and red rock
Here the Riviera changes colour. The blue stays, but the rock turns red and the landscape stops pretending to be well behaved.

La route
The Corniche d’Or follows the coast and Estérel coves for around 30 km between the Cannes/Théoule side and Saint-Raphaël. Leave time to stop; driving it like a ring road defeats the point.
À pied
Rocher Saint-Barthélémy is an easy walk on a traffic-free road with sea views. For something more serious, the massif has longer routes such as the Grand Tour de l’Ours.
Mèfi en été
From 21 June to 30 September, access to the massif can change daily because of wildfire risk. Check the official access map before setting off.
LES NIÇOISES SAY
A good day trip leaves empty time. If you need to check your watch every twenty minutes, remove a stop.
