On the Promenade des Anglais, Le Negresco makes no attempt to be discreet. Pink dome, historic salons, art everywhere and rooms that jump between periods and styles: this is a hotel that has become part of Nice's scenery.
The hotel lists 102 rooms and 28 suites, mixing period furniture and artworks with contemporary design. If you wanted a completely interchangeable grand hotel, pichoun, you have chosen rather badly.
An icon with enough personality to justify doing more than staring at it from a taxi. The rate is fully aware that it sleeps inside a legend.
Why we keep it
Its main virtue is exactly what many hotels work hard to remove: eccentricity. The rooms do not all come from the same catalogue and the building operates almost as much as an art collection as a palace.
The Promenade is outside the door. For a first stay in Nice, the geography is hard to beat if sea and centre matter more than absolute silence.

Who it suits
- You want a hotel that actually has something to say.
- You like art, historic interiors and hotels with almost excessive personality.
- You want the Promenade without exiling yourself from central Nice.
Mèfi if...
- You came for Japanese minimalism. Very much not the point.
- Your budget needs a calm, rational conversation.
- You want a discreet address whose façade nobody recognises.
